Social Media Policy

When operating official social media accounts* of the SG Holdings Group, the following principles and standards of conduct must be observed.

    An official account is one that has received approval to be opened in accordance with the approval process established in advance by the department responsible for public relations, and for which a report on its management and operational framework has been submitted to and approved by the Company’s department responsible for public relations.

Understand the characteristics of media

  • We communicate information with the understanding that information published online can be accessed worldwide by an unspecified number of users and, cannot be completely deleted once published.
  • Each social media platform has different characteristics, including its user demographics and the ease with which information can be disseminated. We strive to communicate effectively by understanding the characteristics of each platform.

Be conscious of the status of official accounts and take responsibility for their content

  • We recognize that we represent the Company or organization and clearly identify the account as an official account.
  • When communicating information, we do not infringe copyrights or any other third-party rights.
  • In principle, only content that has received prior approval in accordance with the prescribed procedures may be published.
  • If any published content is found to be inaccurate, we promptly correct it.

Clearly define the management and operational framework

  • When opening an account, we thoroughly consider the management and operational framework and risk mitigation measures, and conduct operations based on planning.

Complete training on the use of social media

  • Personnel responsible for operating official accounts complete the prescribed training established by SG Holdings.
  • In addition to the mandatory training described above, we make use of other training opportunities to ensure appropriate and effective operation.

Exercise due care regarding the content of posts

  • All posts must comply with the separately established SG Holdings Group Code of Ethics and Conduct, and we do not publish negative posts or defamatory or disparaging comments about the Company or any other company.
  • Do not respond to issues based on individual judgment. When encountering a situation that is difficult to address or identifying an issue while using social media, individuals must not act on their own judgment and must promptly consult the appropriate company personnel in accordance with established procedures.

For personal use, the following must also be observed.

Comply with Laws, Regulations, and Internal Rules

Employees strictly comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as their company’s rules of employment and other internal rules and regulations. In particular, employees must not post information obtained through their work or any work-related information, images, videos, audio, or other content.

Do Not Infringe the Rights of Other Companies

We always obtain permission before using third-party content. We do not use content without permission. Even when permission has been obtained, we clearly identify the rights holder in the relevant post and ensure that it does not infringe any third-party rights.

Make Sensible Statements and Posts

We do not post unlawful content or make statements or posts that defame or slander others. In accordance with the separately established Code of Ethics and Conduct, we always make sensible statements or posts.
