[Sagawa International Economic Cooperation Foundation] Sagawa's 19th Japan-China Friendship Vehicle Maintenance Skill Training Commences —Vehicle maintenance skill transfer from Japan to China—(9/8/2008) |
| The Foundation of Sagawa International Economic Cooperation, an affiliated organization of SG Holdings Group, commenced Sagawa's 19th Japan-China Friendship Vehicle Maintenance Skill Training as its major program. |
This year the Foundation received six Chinese trainees from Xining City, Qinghai Province — a region covered by China's Western Development Strategy. On August 18, the training began with a two-week basic training session in Shanghai, covering such topics as vehicle structures. Subsequently, on September 5, a practical training session began in Japan.
Through lectures and hands-on training at this session, scheduled to end on October 24, the trainees will learn about the structures of engines, electric devices, power transfer units, brakes and other automotive systems. They will also acquire overall vehicle maintenance skills through on-the-job training and visits to other organizations. |
| The Foundation has accepted 108 trainees since its first vehicle maintenance skill training session, conducted in Japan in 1987. The current training system, combining training sessions in Japan and China, was established in 2001, when the Foundation provided its vehicle maintenance skill training in China for the first time. A total of 59 mechanics have received the training in China thus far. |
