Takayuki Tanii, a member of Sagawa Express's athletic sports club (under the Kyoto Prefectural Athletic Sports Association) has been selected as a Japanese delegate (men's race walking) to compete in the XXIX Olympiad, Beijing 2008 (Beijing Olympics) to be held in August in Beijing, China.
This is Tanii's second participation in the Olympic Games, following Athens 2004. |

[Message from Tanii]
I am very glad and excited to be selected as a Japanese delegate to the Beijing Olympic Games. I thank my parents for their great support over the past 25 years, and all other members of Sagawa Express for their encouragement and assistance. The Olympiad is a special competition with a completely different atmosphere from that of the World Championships and the World Race Walking Cup. What I must focus on the most is to make myself feel relaxed and confident, without being overwhelmed by the unique and superb excitement and atmosphere of the Olympic Games. I am determined to do my best, since this is a great opportunity for me to achieve great results and repay the people around me for their tremendous help and assistance. Thank you for your support at the Games! |
