Scheme to Enhanced Safety

The entire company is making efforts towards increasing driver skills and safety awareness through the establishment of a safety management system and driver contests, etc.

Participation in the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Air Travel Security Seminar"

Security is being strengthened around the world with the intent of making airplane travel safer. Air cargo is being targeted for similar efforts, as every country considers it vital to cooperate in raising security levels.
In consideration of these circumstances, the security-related initiatives of the SG Holdings Group have been highly praised, and Sagawa Express' Haneda - Air Cargo Sales Office was selected for use as an observation tour venue by participants in the Ministry Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Air Travel Security Seminar." In January 2011, observers from various countries came as a group to view x-ray machinery and other facilities and equipment, and had a chance to learn firsthand about Sagawa Express' efforts in regard to air cargo security. This observational tour was organized by JICA*, who arranged for people working in fields related to air travel security to visit Japan and learn about its advanced security initiatives.

  • * JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) is an independent administrative agency, and support for the autonomy and advancement of developing countries is one of their fields of activity

VOICE

We were reminded anew of the importance of air cargo security

The group of visiting observers learned about x-ray machinery and other facilities and equipment, using the opportunity to see firsthand what kinds of air cargo safety initiatives we are taking. The way they enthusiastically asked questions about so many things during their visit truly surprised me. The seminar's selection our facility for observation tours shows that they think highly of our work, something that all the staff felt equally proud of, and on top of that we were reminded anew of the importance of cultivating security awareness. In the future, we will strive to raise the standards of our air cargo security measures further so they can act as an example to everyone.
